Features

High Strength

With a carbon content of 0.70–0.80%, it forms a predominantly martensitic microstructure after quenching and tempering, resulting in a tensile strength ranging from 1200–2200 MPa.

High Elastic Deformation

With a yield strength ≥1080 MPa and an elongation of 5–10%, it maintains an elastic deformation range under high stress levels during loading.

High Surface Finish Adaptability

Available for bright, galvanized, phosphated, and oiled surface finishes. The galvanized layer isolates the environment, while the phosphated layer improves lubrication and subsequent forming processes.

Applications

Spring manufacturing industry: Used in compression springs, tension springs, and torsion springs to provide restoring force under cyclic loads.

Automotive parts industry: Used in suspension springs, seat springs, and fastening elastic elements to withstand dynamic loads during operation.

Machinery equipment industry: Used in various return mechanisms and buffer devices to store and release energy during mechanical motion.

Hardware products industry: Used in wire forming parts and elastic connectors, providing fixation and springback in assembly structures.

FAQ

Q: Why do steel wires of different diameters exhibit varying strengths?

A: The smaller the wire diameter, the greater the degree of cold drawing deformation and the more pronounced the work hardening effect. Therefore, tensile strength typically increases as the diameter decreases.

Q: Is heat treatment mandatory after spring forming?

A: For high-stress applications, quenching and tempering are required after forming to achieve the target hardness and corresponding elastic properties within the 40–55 HRC range.

Q: How to choose the appropriate surface finish?

A: Galvanized surfaces can be used in humid or corrosive environments. Phosphated or oiled surfaces can be used when cold forming is required to reduce friction and minimize surface damage.
